To celebrate the launch of our cookbook, The Purple Project hosted a party at Park and Rec in University Heights! The cookbook was a collection of recipes from America's finest athletes, two of whom were in attendance at the launch party. There was a ring toss tournament, raffle prizes, and more. On May 8th from 10:30am and 2pm volunnteers gathered to help shelters in need! The Purple Project collected items at Trolley Barn Park that allowed shelters to better support survivors seeking help.
To kick off 2021, The Purple Project hosted a virtual Vinyasa Flow yoga class. Taught by certified yoga instructor Lynn Salas, the event raised nearly $300 to help support our mission.
On The Purple Project's one-year anniversary, hotels and business were asked to turn their up lights purple as a way to stand with domestic violence shelters and survivors of domestic abuse. We were pleased to have pledges from hotels downtown. We are thankful to have a community stand together to support those in need.
The Purple Project celebrated May 4th (Star Wars Day) with a trivia competition. Proceeds from this event were able to provide two San Diego shelters with much-needed bedding and food supplies.
The Purple Project, in partnership with Comedy Heights, ran a comedy show on March 12th to raise funds for shelters. Despite moving the event inside due to rain, we raised over $500 to help support our cause.
The Purple Project hosted a donation drive at Bowls N Brews on February 15th. We gathered items from 11am-2pm. An estimated $1200 worth of items gathered at the drive were distributed to emergency domestic shelters in the greater San Diego area.
